Well good morning, Al Roker. I had no idea you had an autistic son until this morning’s “trending news” about your Godsent therapist of 10 years. The post got me wondering about your stance on vaccines, given NBC’s relationship with Bob Wright, the founder of pro-vaccine Autism Speaks. Bob has an autistic grandson whose mother, interestingly enough, strongly disagrees with his public stance on vaccines and autism. And your co-host Matt Lauer’s ex-wife has an autistic child of her own and she blames vaccines for his disorder, which is probably the reason why Matt and his second wife only selectively vaccinated their own children. But on the other hand, 19 months after getting into an argument with Nancy Synderman where Matt insisted multiple times over Nancy’s objections that vaccines were controversial (minute 6), Matt was pressured into being truly terrible to Andrew Wakefield on the Today Show (minute 3) in a one man diatribe masquerading as an interview. How do I know Matt was faking it? Because in February of 2015 he stood up for parents who don’t want to vaccinate their kids.
Given your likely extensive knowledge of the media’s financial interest in promoting the propaganda of their pharmaceutical sponsors, I was disappointed to read that you think that, “Thanks to lifesaving vaccines, measles is mostly history in our country.”
That was just 2008, Al. Your kid was 6. You seriously never wondered, with all of the attention on the MMR vaccine at the time, whether it played a role in the fact that your child met zero milestones when he was 2, and still was not walking or talking at the age of 3?
How about now? How about since the CDC vaccine researcher revealed the 3.4 times increase in autism in black children who receive the MMR on time? How about since other black celebrity parents of autistic boys like D. L. Hughley, Tisha Campbell, Toni Braxton, and Holly Robinson Peete all have the guts to speak up and question the impact that collateral damage from vaccines has had on their families?

While we are on the topic of calling out media folks that are choosing a paycheck over public health and putting aside journalistic integrity, let’s be sure to add CNN’s Senior Correspondent, Elizabeth Cohen to the list. Her book, “The Empowered Patient” was inspired by a personal experience. Namely the seizures that started on her daughter’s second day of life. All of the Drs. at a top hospital in Atlanta stood around scratching their head’s at the cause. In her book, there is conveniently no mention either way of a Hep B, shot given on day one of life and there is no explanation given for the seizures. Later in the book, we learn that Elizabeth was sent home with medication for her child’s seizures. We are not told if/when they stopped, and in a completely separate article the seizures are deemed a “fluke”. In another CNN clip, she does admit that seizures can be a side effect of vaccination. Yet, on the heels of the William Thompson story in August of 2014, she had the audacity to follow it with the now famous “Hear This Well”. It is interesting that she profited from this story, while going against her own advice in the book by completely dropping the ball on the cause of the seizures. You simply cannot make this stuff up!

You’re right, he’s never publicly said his son’s diagnosis. Developmental delay, language-based special needs, no milestones at 2 years old, not walking and talking at 3, and has had an autism therapist for the last 10 years.

Occupational therapy does not mean autism!!!! He may not have an official diagnosis of Austism!!!!! And for some people who live as a celebrity, they may just want to keep a little bit of their life private!!!!! You see now that he has come out with this info people are automatically bringing him down instead of celebrating his child and the love he clearly has for him!!!! All this vaccine bullshit is ridiculous!!!! It can just be developmental delays…… But what do I know…. I just live around it everyday!

Everybody should quit speculating on what they think someone else’s child has, or has not, been diagnosed with. I can tell you from firsthand experience that at the age of 2 or 3, the specialists will not give a diagnosis of Autism. My sons official diagnosis at that point was PDD NOS. My son was not officially diagnosed until the age of 6. He started seeing the Neurologist at the age of 2 1/2, and that was after fighting witb his Pediatrician for over a year because of the issues I saw at the age of 1, that the Pediatrician said was “normal boy stuff”. One visit to a Child Psychologist and we were referred to the Neurologist as an emergency case. My sons Autism was not from his shots. Nor do I believe the shots cause them. What I do believe is that all of the crap we put on our food and the crap inject the animals we eat is the problem. I thik having all of that crap going in to our systems while we are creating another human being is the reason bebind all of these new Austism findings. We give our cattle antibiotics and growth hormones and then we eat them. You don’t think that crap stays in the meat that we eat?? Guess Again!! Now, all of that crap is now inside our babies because they are getting the nutrients to grow from us. NOW, add more crap to their tiny little systems like all of the vaccines they need and you have one hell of a party going on inside their tiny immune system. These immunizations our children need are not the main reason. Tbey are not what is causing this all of this crap. There is not only an increase in Austism, but also in childhood cancers, epilepsy, learning disabilities, developmental delays, etc. It makes me angry to hear that its the shots all the time. If parents would pay real close attention to their childrsn, they would see the signs much earlier than 2. My son walked at tbe age of 9 mos, he was talking small sentences at the age of 1 and riding a 2 wheeler at the age of 3. He never stopped talking, but he did stop talking to other people. But at the age of about 1, he also stopped looking at people in the eye, he became very shy and didn’t like to be touched. He also wouldn’t sleep a full night. He had insomnia. He stopped eating all the table food he was eating at 9 and 10 mos old. There are earlier signs that most people aren’t paying attention to. Take your faces out of your phones and off the computers and put them in your children. You might just notice something that shouldn’t be happening. My son is 19 now and is taking college classes. He drives a car and is a very different person than he was at the age of 3 and 4 when his Autism was in full swing. At that time the Autism was in charge, now we are in charge. That is what early intervention and therapy treatment does. Whether a celebrity talks about their childs disorder or not is none of our business. If they don’t want to give all the information to us, that’s their decision. We should butt out. If that was you, would you want everyone whispering behind your back, or talking crap about you on Social Media??? Think about it before you type about it.

My son was diagnosed with Autism at 2 1/2. No one knows what is causing the increase. I think it is absurd to say vaccines don’t cause Autism just as it is absurd to say they do. The proper studies will never be done.

In June 2000, a group of top government scientists and health officials gathered for a meeting at the isolated Simpsonwood conference center in Norcross, Ga. Convened by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the meeting was held at this Methodist retreat center, nestled in wooded farmland next to the Chattahoochee River, to ensure complete secrecy. The agency had issued no public announcement of the session — only private invitations to 52 attendees. There were high-level officials from the CDC and the Food and Drug Administration, the top vaccine specialist from the World Health Organization in Geneva, and representatives of every major vaccine manufacturer, including GlaxoSmithKline, Merck, Wyeth and Aventis Pasteur. All of the scientific data under discussion, CDC officials repeatedly reminded the participants, was strictly “embargoed.” There would be no making photocopies of documents, no taking papers with them when they left. The federal officials and industry representatives had assembled to discuss a disturbing new study that raised alarming questions about the safety of a host of common childhood vaccines administered to infants and young children. According to a CDC epidemiologist named Tom Verstraeten, who had analyzed the agency’s massive database containing the medical records of 100,000 children, a mercury-based preservative in the vaccines — thimerosal — appeared to be responsible for a dramatic increase in autism and a host of other neurological disorders among children. “I was actually stunned by what I saw,” Verstraeten told those assembled at Simpsonwood, citing the staggering number of earlier studies that indicate a link between thimerosal and speech delays, attention-deficit disorder, hyperactivity and autism. Since 1991, when the CDC and the FDA had recommended that three additional vaccines laced with the preservative be given to extremely young infants — in one case, within hours of birth — the estimated number of cases of autism had increased fifteenfold in this study from one in every 2,500 children to one in 166 children. the autism rate is now1 child in 45.
The original study was done by Poul Thorsen of Denmark who stole over a million in US grant money from the CDC and left the country. First, for two months of age, an unspecified developmental delay, which has its own specific ICD9 code. Exposure at three months of age, Tics. Dr. Verstraeten, pg. 165: “Personally,I have three hypotheses. My first hypothesis is it is parental bias.
The children that are more likely to be vaccinated are more likely to be picked and diagnosed. Second hypothesis, I don’t know. There is a bias that I have not recognized, and nobody has yet told me about it. Third hypothesis. It’s true, it’s Thimerosal. Those are my hypotheses.”
Dr. Weil of the AAP, pg. 207: “The number of dose related relationships are linear and statistically significant. You can play with this all you want. They are linear. They are statistically significant. The positive relationships are those that one might expect from the Faroe Islands studies. They are also related to those data we do have on experimental animal data and similar to the neurodevelopmental tox data on other substances, so that I think you can’t accept that this is out of the ordinary. It isn’t out of the ordinary.”
There is also the aluminum aspect to vaccine that is equally if not more dangerous than mercury.
Don’t start the chant that Mercury has been removed from vaccines. It hasn’t. Some vaccines continue to add thimerosal as a adjuvant ie: Flu, DTap. All vaccines are highly contaminated and probably the filthiness products to be injecting into people. The industry attempts to sterilize and disinfect them by process them with Thimerosal and than filtering it out in the final process. Therefore they are able to state-no Thimerosal but the reality is, according to Dr. Boyd Haley- metals are highly reactive and combines to the protein in the vaccine solution thus it cannot be filtered out. This is where you “trace” amounts come in as the CDC states but also from my readings, several years ago, thimerosal is under the umbrella of pharm trades secrets and therefore does not legally have to be disclosed to the public.
Environmental factors cannot be ruled out adding to the effects to the neurological issue children are having but most of them can be eliminated from the body such as mercury in fish which almost all of it is excreted in the stool but metals being injected into the body are processed completely differently and in children they do not have the renal capacity to excrete them. Therefore, Vaccines impact and cause more damage than food.

Vaccines cannot be ruled out as the cause of many cases of autism. Look at Aidan Quinn’s daughter who had 200 words at age two and got he MMR vaccine and had seizures and never spoke another word. What is that all about? My daughter Kathy is now 24 and she was fine until two years of age. APGAR 999, 8 lbs 15 ozs and 21 inches long. She was ahead of her now Cornell BA and NYU JD sister until she got those shitty shots. I won’t ever get a flu vaccine and I had two jabs to my arms as a child. If I had to do it over again I would not have gotten my daughter vaccinated. How about a legitimate study that is statistically sound on unvaccinated vs vaccinated children. The Amish don’t vaccinate and they have no record of autism. The big vaccine producers are evil Merck tried to mandate Gardisol in NJ until the autism community said no way. That vaccine has caused many deaths among 13 year old girls who get it to protect them against sexually transmitted disease. My daughter does not understand sex. I hate Merck They hid the bad batches of the MMR vaccine and got protection from the courts and the US government. Like Agent Orange was safe? No way you can convince me that vaccines are safe. I would rather take my chances getting measles which I got as well as mumps and chicken pox. Now, I never get sick.
