Raise Your Hand if You Take Medical Advice From a Playboy Bunny

playboyThis accusation is everywhere, isn’t it?  Respectable doctors say it on live TV, trying to sound like they have sympathy for those of us who just weren’t smart enough to avoid being duped by a pretty young thing with big boobs.  Journalists never fail to mention it in stories about whatever the current vaccine-preventable epidemic is.  It’s talked about on blogs, call-in radio shows, and legislative hearings.  I’m starting to think that the recipe for a mainstream print article is made up of 5 ingredients:

  1. A hefty dose of mass hysteria;
  2. A declaration of vaccines being the greatest medical achievement of the 20th century;
  3. Two parts vaccine injury denial; both in what an injury is and that they are “exceedingly rare”;
  4. An allusion to a “debunked” and “fraudulent” study;
  5. All topped off with a sprinkle of Playboy bunny.

Snoooooze.  Who gets paid to write that stuff?

Correct me if I’m wrong but Jenny McCarthy didn’t hit the big time with vaccine-induced autism before September 2007, when she went on Oprah to tell her personal story of what happened to her child. By my reasoning it would be impossible for anyone who stopped vaccinating before the fall of 2007 to have done so because they were taking medical advice from that Playboy bunny.

So, Susan Lawson, the pro-vaccine veterinarian whose daughter Julia was featured on a vaccine awareness billboard after she succumbed to severe autism from the MMR-V on December 26, 2006?  Not taking medical advice from a Playboy bunny.

How about Marlene, who heard of the vaccine-autism connection in 1996 and yet still vaccinated her son in 2000 before autism set in? Not taking medical advice from a Playboy bunny.

What about Christina who held off on vaccinating her beautiful baby until she was 14 months old, and still lost her to autism in 2004?  Not taking medical advice from a Playboy bunny.

And the parents of Eric, who was severely injured in 1992 by the DPT?  He died last year at the age of 22 after being wheelchair bound and plagued with seizures his whole life.  They only wish they’d been able to take medical advice from that Playboy bunny.

To the best of my knowledge, the last time Jenny McCarthy spoke to the press about vaccines and autism was in April of 2010 for a PBS documentary.  We’re coming up on 5 years since she’s grabbed the autism spotlight in attempt to brainwash unsuspecting new parents into not vaccinating, but we’re still giving her all of the credit?  Why?  Are we that obsessed with Playboy?

You know who else posed for Playboy?  Kim Kardashian, but the media fawned all over her declaration that everyone in her family needed to get a pertussis vaccine when her baby was born, making her a Tdap hero.

Who else bared it all to be an iconic bunny?  Brooke Burke.  But when she was playing up her thyroid cancer diagnosis and giving medical advice to the masses, everyone was all ears.

Suzanne Somers?  I hate to break it to you but she’s a mainstream media darling and hordes of people have no problem taking her medical advice, apparently having forgotten that she too is a former Playboy bunny.

Sofia Vergara has a hard time keeping her clothes on for all sorts of publications– not that I’m complaining– but she also stars in the “Follow the Script” synthetic thyroid hormone campaign and if telling someone to take a prescription isn’t giving medical advice, I don’t know what is.

Even Kristen “you-can’t-hold-my-child-unless-you’re-vaccinated” Bell posed for Maxim Magazine, and let’s be honest, that’s what celebrities do when Playboy isn’t ringing their phone.

Now that I mention it, Sarah Michelle Gellar, the “Pertussis Slayer,” stripped down for Maxim too– and not just once, but twice.  In fact, Jennifer Lopez (Sounds of Pertussis spokesperson), Salma “Sex-Mex” Hayek (tetanus vaccine representative), and Jennifer Garner (flu shot campaign) have all been featured in titillating Maxim spreads.  Not having been invited anywhere near the big league, Amanda Peet (Shot@Life and Every Child by Two Ambassador since her brother-in-law is cronies with Paul Offit) settled for sexing it up for GQ.  What, we’re OK with all of these bombshells giving medical advice?

Do I care about all of that?  Not really, but I do care about Jenny McCarthy.  Unlike the rest of the clothing-optional ladies on this list she’s put her money where her mouth is in funding $1,800 autism treatment scholarships for families who can’t afford to help their children.  She stood up as a lone mother to say, “This is what happened to my son. He went into cardiac arrest after vaccinations, he has seizures, and he was diagnosed with autism.  This is our story.”  She took a beating in bringing attention to an epidemic and continues to be a media scapegoat today but do you think she cares?

I doubt it.  There is only one mama lion on this list and lions don’t concern themselves with the opinions of sheep.

  1. You can add, Elizabeth, who vaccinated her daughter in 1995 and chose to delay/not vaccinate her sons in 1998 and 2001 because of their sister’s hideous seizure disorder.

  3. You very much need to correct both the title and the body of this article! Playboy Bunnies NEVER take their clothes off, at least not as part of their job. Playboy PLAYMATES pose for the magazine. THE TWO ARE NOT THE SAME THING!!! My mother was a Playboy Bunny at the original Playboy Club in Chicago. She NEVER posed nude for the magazine.

    1. Oh, and BTW – my mother was also a nurse and then a special education teacher. I delayed vaccinating my children until they were ready for school on her request. So yes, I DID in fact take advice from a (former) Playboy Bunny.

      She never once had anything but positive and respectful comments about Hugh Hefner BTW, said he was a complete gentleman and the Club was a very high class place that was very hard to get hired into.

      1. Good for your mom for giving you that great advice. However, you take the article out of context. The writer is simply mocking the media for their blatant hypocrisy.The Mainstream media – and medicine -will bash anyone who questions their protocol, Playboy Bunny or not.

    2. My sister, too, was a Playboy bunny. She was offered a huge amount of money to pose nude for the magazine, but turned it down. Both of her children are unvaccinated, and her son is uncircumcised, because she listened to her older sister (me!) who did the research, and then read the documentation.

      1. Yes, we are talking about the lives, health, and death of children. Some children lose their lives from vaccines. Some babies are dying from vaccines. Many children, two of mine, have autism from their vaccines. Some children have impaired health; allergies, ezcema, brain damage, learning disabilities and more from their vaccines. No children in the U.S. have died from measles recently but children have died from their measles vaccine.

  4. Another great article. I have actually written stenographers (they are not journalist) who write these hit pieces for big pharma, and told them that the primary criteria for a vaccine article is they are handed a piece of paper with Jenny McCarthy and Dr. Wakefields names of it. They are also handed another piece of paper with the pharmaceutical industry /CDC’s mantras and talking points on them that say the following:
    vaccines are safe and effective
    vaccines saves thousands of lives
    vaccines save children from vaccine preventable diseases
    vaccines eradicated polio
    vaccines eradicated smallpox
    vaccines prevent children from dying from horrible diseases
    anti-vaxxers brought back measles
    anti-vaxxers brought back whooping cough
    unvaccinated children are infecting vaccinated children
    unvaccinated children are a risk to the community
    anti-vaxxers are responsible for bringing measles to the happiest place on the planet.
    This one I find hilarious. A family of 4 will pay over $500 just to get in and can spend another
    2-4 hundred just on drinks and meals. Add in overly priced souvenirs and that happy place
    can set you back close to $1000,00 in one day-and that’s just 1 park. Park jumping passes-
    off the wall. So Disney being promoted as the happiest place in the world is just another con-just like vaccines. No one wonder this was selected as ground zero for this staged event-both. CDC and Disney deal in expensive fantasies. (my rant)

    This is what stenographers are given and told to include in a story. In fact that’s what they write fantasies-not one shred of truth. I sent them lengthily emails, setting them straight especially about Dr. Wakefield. I sent them the entire court document where it states Wakefield did nothing wrong and tell them they should retract their fairy tale because it’s based on a lie. I usually end with saying-JOURNALISM IS DEAD. Have a nice day!

      2. Maybe if Tdap hero Kristen Bell, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jennifer Lopez, and Kim Kardasian, Salma Hayek – tetanus vaccine representative, Jennifer Garner – flu shot rep and Amanda Peet Shot@Life and We’ll Damage Every Child by Two put down their scripts and took a walk on the wild side they will learn that what they have been indoctrinated with will harm their children in the long term. Peet has an Autistic child. Of course she won’t say it’s the vaccine or she would lose that lucrative position. The others need to read this:

        Nearly a century after the release of the whooping cough (B. Pertussis) vaccine, mounting evidence suggests that widespread mandated use of the vaccine could potentially be doing more harm than good in the long term—in addition to having been found lacking in the effectiveness department. As reported by The Washington Post:

        “The research suggests that while the vaccine may keep people from getting sick, it doesn’t prevent them from spreading whooping cough — also known as Pertussis — to others.

        ‘It could explain the increase in Pertussis that we’re seeing in the US,’ said one of the researchers, Tod Merkel of the Food and Drug Administration…

        The study, titled: “Acellular Pertussis vaccines protect against disease but fail to prevent infection and transmission in a nonhuman primate model,” used infant baboons to test the hypothesis that “current acellular pertussis vaccines fail to prevent colonization and transmission” of B. Pertussis. (there is no vaccine for Bordetella Pertussis virus) http://www.pnas.org/content/111/2/787

        Lead author Tod Merkel did comment to the New York Times that when exposed to B. Pertussis after recently getting vaccinated, you could be an asymptomatic carrier and infect others, saying:

        “When you’re newly vaccinated, you are an asymptomatic carrier, which is good for you, but not for the population.”

        The strain that has been circulating for God knows how long because the Acellular Pertussis vaccine was deemed ineffective back in the 1960’s, is Bordetella Pertussis. Viral Vaccines mutate so actually who knows what it really is not. Viruses mutate with every body it goes into-that’s its nature.

        You know that “Cocooning” experiment the CDC & CHD initiated back in 2010 when 10 babies died, that’s exactly what it was, an experiment and it probably cost some of those babies their lives.
        As of June 30, 2012, Australia officially abandoned its funding of the cocooning strategy because clinical evidence has shown it not to be effective at protecting infants:

And tetanus vaccine is one vaccine that I get many many emails on from people telling me of damage to themselves or their children that doesn’t go away – tetanus like symptoms. 5-10 years from now when their families began to experience chronic symptoms of auto-immune disease, allergies or something that their children’s doctor just can’t put their finger on how they developed their problem and as a result they will be medicated for years on end, will they think about all the vaccines full of DNA fragments and its unknown if this would cause viral mutations in the vaccines. ‘Naked’ DNA (with no protein coat) is known to be highly reactive. Or as Janine Roberts in her book on the vaccine industry “Fear of the Invisible” wrote during her investigations:

        It was thus a shock to discover from this top-level scientific workshop that the viruses in our current vaccines are not in a sterile fluid as I had presumed, but in a soup of unknown bits and pieces, a veritable witches’ brew of DNA fragments, added chemicals, proteins and, even possibly prions and oncogenes, all of which would easily pass through the filters used to be injected into our children.

        Our vaccines, I thus learnt, are not filtered clean but are suspensions from the manufacturers’ ‘incubation tanks’ in which the viruses are produced from ‘substrates’ of mashed bird embryo, minced monkey kidneys or cloned human cells. These suspensions are filtered before use but only to remove particles larger than viruses. The point of the vaccine is that it contains viruses, thus these must not be filtered out. This means there remains in the vaccine everything of the same size or smaller, including what the manufacturers call ‘degradation products’ – parts of decayed viruses or cells.

        I also learnt that the only official checks made for contaminants in vaccines are for a few known pathogens, thus ignoring a vast host of unknown, unstudied, small particles and chemicals. These eminent doctors reported at these vaccine safety meetings that it is simply impossible to remove these from our common vaccines.

        I wish no harm or ill will towards any child because their parents are too indoctrinated and narrow minded to even think maybe, just maybe, with the fact that autism is 1 child in 21, 1 child in 6 in the US is chronically ill, peanut allergies, eczema, asthma, diabetes, learning disabilities and the list goes on, to just look and see what all the noise is about.

  6. I learned the hard way in the late 1990s – after my 2 daughters fell to autism. Jenny has needed a Kevlar bunny outfit ever since she dared tell the world what happened to Evan. Imagine if you child were hit by a car and not only did no on believe you, they made fun of you, you could not sue the drunk driver and then you were denied services and medical for the rest of your child’s life. That’s autism/vaccine injury. It’s a rough road. The misogyny heaped upon Jenny is breathtaking at best, heartbreaking at worst. And fellow women and mothers are among the worst offenders. THANK YOU Levi.

  7. I love this. I always wonder…how is it that being vaccinated keeps one from spreading a disease? They breathe in a germ, and because they are vaccinated, then the germ goes in, sees the situation and just drops dead? Isn’t the idea that it won’t manifest as the full blown disease (in theory), but does a vaccinated body render it inert before they exhale? I honestly don’t understand how they believe it works.

    1. The truth is that vaccines do work often enough to show that vaccine theory has some validity. The problem isn’t necessarily in them not working, its that the entire theory is flawed. Yes, they often fail- far more than vaccine promoters would ever like to admit. But, even when they do work, and even when they don’t seriously injure someone, we should all still be very concerned. I’m astonished that very, very few people are even willing to ask the question of whether or not we should even be invoking temporary immunity for childhood disease that may very well have an important role in both development as well as long term health (and even generational health and true herd immunity).

      1. You know, this is the real point that no one is talking about. Pro vax media jokes about “Chicken pox parties”, but the truth is, how does one acquire natural immunity these days? The real truth is, you can’t unless you move to a third world country where vaccine availability is limited. And even those are becoming scarce.

  8. This writer is a MORON to compare an autism diagnosis to the “loss” of a child. I am a child therapist and have worked with a number of autistic children that bring an abundance of joy and love to those in their lives! Shame on you for implying that autism is an end all be all for a child!

    1. Working with autistic patients is not the same as being a parent to one. Just because a parent feels they’ve lost the child, doesn’t mean they love them less or don’t love and cherish the entirely different child that took their place. Cause that is what it feels like- at least for the other moms I’ve talked to that say their experience was much like mine. Its a complicated emotion, one that takes more than a psychology major to understand.

    2. Oh, and shame on you, Sarah. For being a child therapist that isn’t willing to validate the emotional trauma that comes from having a perfectly normal and healthy child take a dive and become someone totally different. Shame on you. I’d like to see you go through it and tell me that there wasn’t a feeling of loss at any point in the process. To pretend like there isn’t mourning is just ignorant and arrogant. It is similar to when someone loses their hearing (experiencing that with my cancer kid), eye sight or a limb. Its a loss and should be validated as such- at least by professionals. Instead, when it comes to autism (most especially vaccine induced autism), it is even more devastating to have doctors & professionals doubt, mock and degrade you. My intuition carries more weight than your stupid college degree- mine was bestowed by God. Yours by mere profit seeking men.

    3. Aside from the fact that the point of the article was that children can be saved from living autistic, I did not see any reference to autism being described as the loss of a child. As a child therapist for autistic children, you should be more interested in how it can be prevented, as it certainly isn’t the ideal existence for the children, even if it raises the status and pay of “therapists,” having so many autistic children to treat.

  10. Yet again, materialist and mechanistic science is slow to catch up with realities which common sense and reason told many people from the beginning – the more natural something is the less harm it is likely to do.

    That applies not just to foods but to medications and vaccines where synthesized material is often used along with chemicals and toxins introduced to the body in ways IMPOSSIBLE in nature and for which there can be no evolutionary protection or response.
    How hard is it to work that out?

    Quote: Stick to Good Salts
    Refined, processed and bleached salts are the problem. Salt is critical to our health and is the most readily available nonmetallic mineral in the world. Our bodies are not designed to processed refined sodium chloride since it has no nutritional value. However, when a salt is filled with dozens of minerals such as in rose-coloured crystals of Himalayan rock salt or the grey texture of Celtic salt, our bodies benefit tremendously for their incorporation into our diet.
    “These mineral salts are identical to the elements of which our bodies have been built and were originally found in the primal ocean from where life originated,” argues Dr Barbara Hendel, researcher and co-author of Water & Salt, The Essence of Life. “We have salty tears and salty perspiration. The chemical and mineral composition of our blood and body fluids are similar to sea water. From the beginning of life, as unborn babies, we are encased in a sack of salty fluid.”

It’s up to each parent to check for themselves what they should do with their children with autism. Maybe it’s vaccines, maybe it’s not. We don’t really know yet. What we know is that environmental enrichment can brain can be helped to become stronger and more resilient to these kinds of assaults. That’s hopeful.
